Writing a good abstract can really be of greater help to readers because the abstract gives general overview of the entire work. Abstract is the first page usually written at the end of the work (be it a seminar work or scientific work, whatever it is...). Hence the abstract is usually written in past tense and not more than 150 words. While writing the abstract, Specify the key words – those words that feature prominently in the document.
