The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a service that requires one year of your entire life and if you are like me who is very conscious of time, you will agree with me that settling down to make a wise selection of the state to serve is important and very crucial.

What state is the best to serve in?

Having issues deciding what states you should serve? No wahala we dey your side at all time. here are the 5 highest paying states in Nigeria that you can choose.

  1. Akwa Ibom State pays N20,000
  2. Lagos state pays N15,000 and some times N10,000 to corpers in ministry and N5000 to dos in LGA.
  3.  Enugu Statepays N10,000
  4. Sokoto State pays N4,000 and N9,000 to those in state hospital.
  5. Niger State pays N6,000

States with Moderate Payment for NYSC Allowance

  1. Osun State pays N5,000
  2. Ekiti state pays N5,000
  3. Ogun State pays N5,000
  4. Delta States pays N5,000
  5. Abia State pays N5,000

States with Below-Average Payment For NYSC Allowance

  1. Kano State pays N4,000 
  2. Oyo state pays N3,800
  3. Cross River State pay N3,090
  4. Zamfara State N3,000
  5. Bayelsa pays N3,000

States With the Poorest Payment Scheme For NYSC

Please don't ever plan for this location (State) cuz they are too terrible. i.e Comparing the gap between the highest paying state. Mehn!!! The difference is way too much.

    Nice, write-up i totally agree with ur view, but the program isnt as fun as it used to be back in the days. My friends are getting ready for service and im seriously hoping they get posted to these states

      I pray o! I heard youth corpers now have the choice of 3 states for which they wants to serve. It is a very nice innovation. Nobody wan die for wetin e no know at all.

    Which state would you advice someone who intend to be a teacher choose. I plan on settling down in the state after service...putting cost of living into consideration.

    una try well well for other countries na the individual dey decide where him wan go nor be the top men but for Nigeria na the top men go talk where you go stay and do but option dey sha na baba God option just consult the heavenlies and add small fasting then you are free to decide where you wan serve.
